First and foremost, we offer our gratitude and thanks to the United States Department of Agriculture, which furnished seed money that made Naturally Iowa, LLC possible. In March of 2004, the U.S.D.A. presented us with a check that provided funds for operating costs, inventory, research and distribution and sales. We also wish to give our thanks to other important contributors:

NatureWorks® LLC pioneered the ground-breaking, "PLA" technology, a plastic made from renewable sources (such as corn) that composts completely. Naturally Iowa, LLC, serves as the first dairy producer to utilize this revolutionary technology. Visit Natureworks online at http://www.natureworksllc.com/

Iowa Corn Promotion Board supplied financial support towards the development and production of PLA bottles. Their generous financial assistance assisted Naturally Iowa in the adaptation of the plant to house a bottling equipment facility on-site. http://www.iowacorn.org

Norland Int'l designed and developed the bottling system installed in Naturally Iowa's plant, giving us the ability to manufacture compostable, NatureWorks® PLA bottles for each of its fluid milk and smoothie products. Working in partnership with the PLA Supply Company, it is now possible for the first time to supply other small to mid-sized dairy producers with PLA containers and PLA bottle manufacturing technology, adding further value to local markets. Other Partners Include:

Nebraska Corn Development, Utilization and Marketing Board provided financial assistance to develop PLA bottles for use with "grab-'n-go" milk and smoothies, piloted in several Nebraska elementary schools.

Iowa State University's Institute for Physical Research and Technology provided independent testing of PLA technology that guaranteed holding properties for flavor, health standards and quality of corn-based plastics as compared to traditional PET plastic.

Iowa Department of Economic Development donated vital financial support that served from the project's inception, including funds to build and remodel the Naturally Iowa plant. Visit the Iowa Dept. of Economic Development online at http://www.iowalifechanging.com
