Besides the great taste, many people enjoy yogurt's dairy and special "probiotic" benefits. Live strains of "good bacteria" found in yogurt assist the body's digestive system and promote overall health.
What many people do not know is that these beneficial yogurt bacteria generally do not live long enough to make it past the stores' shelves, into your home and family's systems, where they can have any positive effect. By the time most yogurt is consumed, the probiotic strains are most often already dead.
Naturally Iowa recognized this problem and engaged in research to solve this challenge. After many months of research and independent confirmation testing by South Dakota State University, and Iowa State University, Naturally Iowa re-formulated a yogurt product that successfully sustains important probiotic material such as Lactobacillus acidophilus (LA) and Bificobacterium for a significantly longer period (up to 60 days). Our yogurt survives both its shelf life and its path through the human system.
